This is a drawing from a recent drawing trip when I took my senior classes to The Royal Winter Fair which is an agricultural fair that happens every year here in Toronto. For some of them it was the first time that they had ever been that close to a farm animal. For some I am sure it was the first time that they had ever been downtown.

I wanted to take them because, for some of them, who were going to be applying for art college, this would make for a great portfolio piece. I was also hoping that they would be meeting kids that were already in art college and they would get a chance to see what sort of work they do in the "big leagues". Or when they finish high school anyway.
